The renovation and upgrade of the Cultural Centre of Plovdiv is a project granted to Aktor SA – Aktor Bulgaria SA after an international competition. The project brief was to renovate the existing (1960) building, based on current European standards for cultural facilities. The building hosts a large opera hall, a foyer, a complete stage, two congress halls, an exhibition hall, a cinema, dancehalls, and a café. The 600 seats opera hall’s renovation included a geometrical and acoustical redesign, new stage and lighting installations, new wall sidings, light and sound control booths, etc. A Greek expert team with associates and partners with experience in high-standard technical projects designed the new Cultural Center. The Centre was designed to function with a multilevel automated parking facility built in the Plaza in front of the building.
